Paul Brooke

brookPaul Brooke is the founder of VenBio, a $225mm venture fund with offices in New York and San Francisco.  Prior to founding VenBio, Mr. Brooke was the Global Head of Health Care Research and Strategy at Morgan Stanley and headed Morgan Stanley Research, Strategy, and Economics in the Pacific Basin, including Japan. He also was a Managing Director for Tiger Management, where he was responsible for health care investing. Mr. Brooke is currently board member of ViroPharma (VPHM), Cytos (CYTN) and Incyte (INCY). Mr. Brooke received his MA and AB from Columbia University where he was a  William Mitchell Fellow.


John Elstrott

elstrottJohn Elstrott has served as the Chairman of the Board of Whole Foods Market since 2009 and has served as a director of the Company since 1995, serving as Lead Director from 2001 to 2009.
After 25 years, Dr. Elstrott recently retired as a Clinical Professor of Entrepreneurship and the founding director of the Levy-Rosenblum Institute for Entrepreneurship at Tulane University’s Freeman School of Business.  Dr. Elstrott received his PhD in Economics and brings significant business experience, including more than 40 years of experience as an entrepreneur and investor. He is a founder of Nume Health, a co-biotics company based in Boulder, Colorado and New Orleans, which BVM Capital seed funded in 2009. He has been an advisor to BVM since 2012.

John G. Davies

John Davies.PNGJohn Davies has served President and CEO of the Baton Rouge Area Foundation since 1988. During this tenure, assets have grown from approximately $3mm to $600mm.  His time at the foundation has produced important initiatives for the improvement of the Baton Rouge area, including Plan Baton Rouge, a partnership between the Baton Rouge Area Foundation, the City of Baton Rouge, and the State of Louisiana that generated a master plan for the city. Plan Baton Rouge has attracted more than $400 million in capital investment and has been chosen as a model for development partnerships between private and public entities.  Mr. Davies is the son of an American diplomat and grew up in Lima, Peru. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of North Carolina at Asheville in 1972.
Richard Montgomery

Capture.PNGRichard Montgomery is Managing Director of Enhanced Capital’s Tax Credit Finance Team. Previously, Mr. Montgomery was an attorney in the corporate and securities section of the New Orleans office of Jones, Walker, Waechter, Poitevent, Carrère and Denègre, LLP. His practice focused on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, private equity and venture capital financing transactions and entity formation. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and earned a J.D. in 1999 from the Louisiana State University School of Law, graduating as a member of the Order of the Coif and was an associate on the Louisiana Law Review and earned a B.A. in History from the University of Georgia.

Russell Vernon

russellRussell Vernon, a founder of the firm, was formerly the President of Commerce Capital Markets, Inc. Prior to this he was Director of Operations at Barrett Associates, Inc., a New York based money management firm.  Prior to co-founding BVM Capital with Ross Barrett, he held senior operating positions at both Warburg Pincus Asset Management and Chancellor Capital Management in the capacity of Director of Operations. During his tenure at Warburg Pincus, from 1996-2000, he contributed greatly to the firm’s significant increase in client offerings and assets under management. At Chancellor, Mr. Vernon was responsible for all operational aspects of the firm and played a key role in shaping the firm’s direction. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point where he earned a B.S. in engineering. Additionally, Mr. Vernon has an M.S.S. degree from the United States Army War College and an M.B.A. from Columbia University School of Business, where he specialized in finance and management. Mr. Vernon is the managing partner in: Baton Rouge Venture Fund I and II and The Louisiana Venture Fund I.
